1. Terms of Service

By purchasing a subscription to OpsControl you agree to these terms. Please read them before subscribing.

Subscription & billing

OpsControl is a subscription service billed monthly. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time by emailing josh@opscontrol.co — cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Service delivery

We deliver one competitive intelligence briefing per week per client, typically sent Monday mornings. Briefings are reviewed by a human before sending. We do not guarantee a specific delivery time, though we aim for consistency.

Acceptable use

Briefings and intelligence delivered by OpsControl are for your internal business use only. You may not resell, redistribute, or republish briefing content to third parties without written permission.

Modifications

We reserve the right to update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance.

2. What OpsControl does

OpsControl monitors publicly available information about your competitors — including their websites, job postings, press coverage, and review platforms — and synthesises it into a weekly briefing delivered to your inbox.

All signals are collected from public sources only. We do not use any non-public, confidential, or proprietary information about your competitors.

3. Data we collect

We collect the minimum data required to deliver the service:

• Account information — your name, company name, and email address
• Competitor configuration — the names and URLs of competitors you ask us to monitor
• Payment information — processed and stored by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details
• Briefing history — copies of briefings we have sent you, retained for your reference
• Communication preferences — including unsubscribe status

4. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to operate the service:

• To generate and deliver your weekly briefings
• To process subscription payments via Stripe
• To contact you about your account (billing, updates, service notices)

We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to any third party. We do not use your competitor list or briefing content to train AI models or inform any other client's briefings.

Sub-processors

We use the following third-party services to operate:

• Stripe — payment processing (privacy policy)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (privacy policy)
• OpenAI — AI-assisted signal interpretation; data is not retained by OpenAI for training per their API data policy (privacy policy)
• Railway — cloud infrastructure hosting (privacy policy)

5. Our intelligence data sources

All competitive intelligence collected by OpsControl comes from publicly accessible sources, including:

• Publicly indexed websites and product pages
• Public job listing platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, company career pages)
• News articles indexed by Google News
• Public reviews on G2, Glassdoor, Trustpilot, and similar platforms
• Public LinkedIn company profile information

We do not scrape password-protected areas, access private databases, or use any method that circumvents access controls.

6. Retention & deletion

We retain your data for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will delete your account data within 30 days of the request, except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance (e.g., payment records).

To request deletion, email josh@opscontrol.co with the subject line "Data deletion request".

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection law (including GDPR if you are in the UK or EU), including:

• The right to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• The right to data portability
• The right to object to or restrict processing

8. Unsubscribing from briefings

Every briefing email contains a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking it immediately stops all future briefings to your address — no login required.

Unsubscribing from briefings does not cancel your subscription or affect billing. To cancel your subscription entirely, email josh@opscontrol.co.

If you unsubscribed by mistake, reply to any previous briefing email and we will reactivate delivery promptly.

9. Limitation of liability

OpsControl briefings are informational in nature and should not be the sole basis for any business, financial, legal, or strategic decision. We take care to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee that all information is complete or current at the time of delivery.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpsControl Ltd's liability to you for any claims arising from the service is limited to the total fees paid by you in the three months prior to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
